VAT ID (Value Added Tax Identification Number)
The Value Added Tax Identification Number is the equivalent of the Swiss UID in the European Union. It is required for the tax-free movement of goods between businesses in different EU countries.
Real-World Example for SURS Customers
A German merchant using SURS for their Swiss business must provide their German VAT ID for the correct handling of deliveries and invoices within the EU (e.g., to an EU hub).
