Self-Billing

An accounting procedure where the recipient of the service (marketplace) issues a credit memo to the supplier (merchant) for goods sold, rather than the supplier sending an invoice to the marketplace.

Real-World Example for SURS Customers

Galaxus uses a self-billing system. At the end of the month, Galaxus generates a credit memo for all of a merchant's sold products, less commissions. SURS helps to properly account for these credit memos and reconcile them with the merchant's own sales data.
