eWV (electronic Assessment Notice)
The eWV is a digital document from the Swiss customs administration that legally establishes the final import duties (customs and import VAT) for an imported shipment of goods. It serves as proof of the duties paid.
Real-World Example for SURS Customers
After every import of goods for its clients, SURS receives an e-AD from customs. This document is archived for the client's accounting and serves as proof of the import VAT, which is deductible as input tax.
