DAP (Delivered at Place)

An Incoterm where the seller delivers the goods to the named destination, but the buyer is responsible for customs formalities and the payment of import duties. This often leads to unexpected costs for the end customer.

Real-World Example for SURS Customers

A merchant ships via DAP. Upon delivery, the Swiss customer receives a separate invoice from the courier for customs and VAT. SURS advises against this model in B2C commerce and instead recommends DDP for a better customer experience.
